We are pleased to share that our president, Dr. Romney Ruder, has published his first book, Finding Your Pace: Bridging the Gap Between Apathy and Being All God Called You to Be.
With each page, you will uncover the parallels between the Apostle Paul’s race and the physical races we find ourselves engaged in and what is happening in the modern-day Church.
As Christians, Dr. Ruder says we need to motivate ourselves to get into the race Paul refers to. This book provides easy steps to not only get in the race but to finish it strong.
Combining athletic metaphors and similar Biblical examples, he shows readers how to live into one’s faith and begin ministry. Here, the author provides an onramp for discipleship – and faith-based engagement in ministry. Included as well are easy instructions and real-world experiences to reinforce these ideas.
All proceeds from book sales will go to Lifeline Global Ministries.
An excerpt from the book reads:
No, Christ didn’t intend for this to be directed at certain believers; He means it to be a way of life for all who claim to be His followers. Notice the first word: “GO!” It doesn’t require much of a definition. Much like a starting gun or a race announcer shouting, “Ready … Set … GO!” We are all meant to shoot off our starting blocks and start going. Going into our neighborhood with the gospel, going into our city’s downtown metro, going into war-torn places where people need urgent care, going anywhere and everywhere the Lord calls us.
About Dr. Ruder
Nearly 15 years ago, Romney Ruder and his family felt called to leave a 20-year career to become missionaries. He went from senior management positions at Fortune 10, Fortune 500, and privately-held organizations to living with his family in South Central Los Angeles.
Getting in the race, God was calling him to put Ruder on a course that led him to Lifeline Global Ministries.
The mission and vision of Lifeline Global Ministries is to restore and equip incarcerated men and women to become godly parents so that the generational cycle of incarceration can be broken.
The impact of incarceration is devastating, with staggering, multigenerational costs to the individual and community. Together with their partners, Lifeline Global Ministries works to bring family, community, and generational restoration. Ruder is a Postulate with the Anglican Church of North America and serves as a volunteer chaplain at Hutchinson Correctional Facility. He also is an adjunct professor at Newman University. He and his wife Amy have two adult sons and reside in Maize, KS.
